My husband and I have lived in our current house for more than 20 years. We bought the home early in our marriage, and when we first purchased it, it was already considered to be one of the more mature houses in the neighborhood. We knew we still need a home security Austin system.
Over the years, we've replaced a lot of the house's original components. We redid all of the paint and the basement when we first moved in, and ripper out the wiring and water heating system a couple years back. Slowly, we've taken almost every part of the house into the 21st century, albeit in a piecemeal way.
The only thing we've been holding back on updating is the home security system. Aside from the window and door locks, the only thing that came with our house was an alarm system that we arm every night. We understand the importance of home security, but it just never seemed like that much of a concern.
This changed a few year back when our neighbor was robbed. We had a new system put in, and I feel much safer now. The security system is important for preventing home invasions, but also just for preserving my peace of mind.
